Jambo everyone, I am actually home ( returned this morning at 10:30 ) I am soa soa ( fine just fine) but because I could not receive an email signal I am going to back up to Sunday, July 27th. We left at 6 in the morning for the next journey out on our safari. As I was leaving my deluxe tent; four giselles were having breakfast on my front lawn. The sun rises and sets at 7:00 in kenya so we also got to see the sun rise. very beautiful. Sammy, was our driver and he was very informative and knew the area well. I learned alot about the different animals we saw. The highpoint of the morning was that we saw a lion up close. We heard him roar as he stood up and we all looked around to see if he was calling his friends. Lol as we watched him we noticed he was hurt and limping. The game wardens will take care of him or he will get eaten himself.
The Tsavo National Park is now a semi desert because they have not had much rain in two years. Tough for both animals and vegetation. We went driving about for about an hour and saw similar animals to saturday. Our driver said we were lucky to see both a cheetah and lion up close. then we had breakfast and drove the hour and a half through the rest of the park and boarded a bus to head to Mombasa and the first leg of our journey home. Mombasa is the second largest city in kenya and the biggest seaport in Africa. The airport………………..slow…………….. long lines, computers were out, had to go through customs, ect but we made our plane. Little Kenya Airlines. Quick flight to Nairobi. We had a a 6 hour delay so we piled into two Mutatos and went into the city for dinner. I am heading out and have lots to share so more on the time in nairobi and the journey home tomorrow.
